Bejo expands its organic product range

In 2008, too, the range of organically propagated varieties will be increased. In the next sales season, growers can choose from 123 organically propagated varieties of 32 different crops. Developments in organic agriculture and the use of organic seed are still considered to be a trend. Bejo’s involvement is a long-term decision, so range of varieties will increase in the coming years.

Development of organic seed turnover exceeds expectations
In 2007, Bejo Zaden sold more organic seeds than expected. The obligation to use organic onion seed in the Netherlands significantly contributed to this result. However, turnover not only rose in the Netherlands, in the surrounding countries and the USA, the demand for organic seed has seen strong growth. The increasing sales of organic seeds, however, have not compromised sales of traditionally produced Non Chemically Treated seeds.
